Competition Transportation Policy

  • The student cannot leave the performance venue until the entire itinerary is completed – this includes performance(s), pack-up, and groups award ceremonies.
  • The student assumes all responsibility for their equipment, props, uniform, etc. Appropriate arrangements are made for these items based on the competition circumstances.

Below is the procedure that must followed to comply with FCPS regulations:

  1. Notification – The parent must notify Mr. Hackbarth via email prior to the event. (This can also be done via the head chaperone for the event)
  2. Note – On the day of the event, a note must be provided from the parent notifying of the departure. (This will be given to the Head Chaperone or designee when the student is checked out)
  3. Parent – The Parent(s) must come in person and get their students. Students can not be released to “find” their parents or go to another location to meet them.
  4. Mr. Hackbarth / Head Chaperone – The Parent(s) and Student check out with Mr. Hackbarth or the Head Chaperone/Designee together, turn in the note, and then depart.

Please Note: That the above procedures DO NOT explain procedures for releasing students to a non-custodial adult. In order for this to occur there are several additional steps that will need to occur that will be detailed following the initial Notification in step one above.
